Brief description of fishery:
The Club has 3 sections on the River Calder, Lancashire. In Burnley, Padiham and Altham. It has fishing for all types of anglers whether you are game fishing or coarse fishing, There are several deep pools, fast flowing water and slow glides.
Predominantly wild brown trout and grayling both in excess of 2lb, other species present are chub to 4lb and dace. There are a small number of small barbel, pike and perch reported. Sea trout are present and there are reports of the occasional salmon.
The fishing is challenging and a mobile approach is required to get the best out of the river, wading is difficult in most stretches due to boulders and silt so caution is required.
