WINSTONS WISH CHARITY MATCH 2019
On Saturday 21/09/19 14 brave anglers turned up at 0930 to fish a memorial
match for there friend Damian O’Kane to raising money for the Winstons wish charity.
The Venue was Rowley lake run by Pendle Burnley and District Anglers At
the draw John Nuttall the hot favourite and reigning champion was pegged in
the bay, The from any carp, our t target fish.
Into the evening, Damian’s relatives served food which all the anglers
really enjoyed and appreciated, night closes in quickly this time of year, and
as the temperature drops midnight came and the first fish was landed by Anthony
hart, a cracking little common carp weighing 13.8lb and as the anglers grabbed
a few hours sleep, the night was quiet.
Around 5am the silence was shattered by reigning champion johns alarms screaming
to a mirror carp at 14.4lb John landed another carp at 1055 weighing in at 6.8lb
common helping him retain his title for another year
As 11am Sunday morning arrived and went, some very wet anglers trundled down
to see the trophy being presented again to John, great effort from all the anglers
A grand Total of of £525 being raised by the anglers and donations for the
Winstons wish charity
